Last summer was the first time that I ever participated in a CSA. I am happy to say that I could not have wished for a better experience. The produce was of highest quality, the selection was abundant throughout the 6 months, and the staff very helpful and knowledgeable. Also, Gee Creek Farm was accommodating with respect to their pick-up locations. Since I live on the West side, I appreciated being able to pick up my produce at either the South Park blocks on Wednesday or the Saturday market at PSU, or at Hillsdale on Sunday. Whatever worked for me was ok with Gee Creek. I will be signing up again for this summer, and I highly recommend Gee Creek to all who are looking to for great tasting organic produce. Anna S.

From June into December, our Gee Creek Farm vegetable box overflows with just-picked Certified Organic produce and heirloom specialties at a fraction the cost of supermarkets and other CSA programs. Vegetables not chopped into salads, stir-frys or soup make their way into the juicer. Just a nearby farmers market trip away. -Dan, 3rd Year CSA Member

This is my second of what I expect will be many years participating in the Gee Creek Farm CSA program. I continue to be amazed and pleased with the variety and quality of the produce I receive each week, and have found CSA to be very easy on my budget.  My pre-season payment assures that I have fresh organic vegetables throughout the growing season, at a cost per week that is less than what I was previously spending for lesser quality produce. We all know that vegetables should be the centerpiece of our diets. When I pick up my CSA share each week, it is easy to plan healthful meals around what Gee Creek Farm has harvested for me - I only need some whole grains, dried legumes and cheeses in addition to eat very well. I finally decided to try a CSA last summer for the family, and I wasn't disappointed. Week after week, we had plenty of super fresh greens for salads, and other great veggies for cooking, roasting, BBQ, etc. It was actually exciting to wait and see the new crop that would be arriving each week, some of which I've never seen or heard of (Kohlarabi). Lyle has great cooking ideas for the exotic veggies, and truly enjoys sharing his knowledge. Everything is organic, and the produce tastes and feels the way mother nature intended it to. One concern was that we would not be able to eat all of the veggies each week and that we'd have to throw them out. This never happened. Participating in the CSA "forced" us to eat home-prepared meals more often, which actually saved us money (didn't eat out as much), and we knew that we were consuming food of the highest quality (pesticide free, etc.) that couldn't be matched in restaurants. I also liked the idea of supporting our local growers that are picking the crops within days of consumption, rather than buying organic food from South America, which may have been picked weeks or moths ago. We are definitely participating again this year.

The love,care and attention you give your crops passes through the "fruits of your labors" into their beauty, their nutrition, their taste, their freshness and their cleanliness. You have far exceeded my expectations of what a CSA can be. Every week since June we have enjoyed the cooking opportunities (and sometimes the cooking challenges) that come along with receiving a big basket of fresh and very tasty vegetables. Gee Creek grows a wonderful variety of vegetables, from A to Z, arugula to zucchini. Our membership was a great way for us to get to try some new veggies and to shake up our dining routines by finding new ways to use some old favorites. Gregg and Sheralee

Greetings, I would like to take a moment to express how happy and satisfied my husband and I were with our CSA share this season. The quality of the produce was outstanding. Each and every Sunday we were greeted with an amazing assortment of vegetables and greens. Whether it was selected for us or we got to choose ourselves we knew we were getting the freshest food available. Lyle and everyone there shared their expertise and knowledge answering questions and explaining how to use items. If you're considering making the investment in a CSA share, do it. IT'S WORTH IT! There's no better way to support your health and well being along with the health and well being of local organic farming and those who work so hard to make it happen. Just wanted to let you know how much the staff here in my office and I have enjoyed your produce all summer long. The quality has been incredible and the taste just wonderful. Thanks to Lyle and Gee Creek Farm. This was our first year using a CSA and it was a quite an experience. I loved knowing that my food was as local and as fresh and it could possibly be. The weekly boxes were very abundant with fresh colorful food. I loved driving home every week with the box in the back of my car because the smell of the produce would just fill the car and make me hungry for those healthy flavors. MM.

This has been my first year as a CSA member, and I'm extremely glad I chose Gee Creek! The food has been of only the best quality, and I've been pleasantly surprised by just how much I get each week. I've been eating more greens than I would have normally (love all the kale and chard) and I feel healthier than I have in my whole life. On top of that, every staff member I've met has been very helpful--and Lyle is truly a "green" visionary. Thank you for the good food and health! (And for making me try beets--they are good indeed). This was are first venture in the CSA programs and we couldn't be more delighted. How wonderful it is to have organic vegetables each week. From the garden straight to your hands. I enjoy knowing my local farmers picked the vegetables and brought them to the stand in the same day. Going through what vegetables we get each week has become event in itself. I have been introduced to vegetables that I didn't know existed or tasted so good. So much variety gives us so many options to use with our dishes. Thanks again. -David E.

This last weekend I arrived at the Hillsdale Farmer's Market at closing time to pick up my "share" and found a number of customers ahead of me. I can't say I was surprised, since the quality and variety of your produce is consistently outstanding! The green beans were definitely "over the top" for chewiness and taste, and the cilantro was wonderful when we made a mixed(garbanzo &green) bean salad.
