Gee Creek Farm – Flexi-share – Liberal exchange program

Last year we experimented with a flexi-share program for those picking up their weekly distributions at the farmers markets. It was received quite well. What we are calling flexi-share is where members choose what they want in the box that week instead of having a box prepared for them by the farm crew.  Full share members get 12 “items” (an item might be one head of cabbage or lettuce or two peppers, or a bunch of Swiss chard) and half share members pick out 6 “items”.  

One of the benefits of purchasing shares from a larger diversified farm like ours is that we produce and harvest more than enough of each item to accommodate the needs of both our members and retail customers. Because of the positive acceptance to this more flexible distribution method, we will continue this program into the 2010 season.
